MICHAEL - Birthdate: December 1994

Michael is a 9 year old sweet little boy with black hair and brown eyes. He is small in stature and has an adorable smile and friendly face. Michael is in the 2nd grade and is a fair student.

Michael is very much a boy. He loves sports like football and basketball. He also enjoys playing video games.

Michael has a slight stutter, so at times it is difficult to understand him. Michael can have an attitude and will shut down. Patience with Michael is a must in order to get him to open up and to understand him. Michael can also be a clown, especially when he is around his biological siblings. He also does comical antics at his foster home that keep his foster parents laughing.

Michael has a history of abuse and neglect. He is in his third foster home and is doing well there. Due to Michael=s history, he can be destructive and has acted out in the past. When upset, he may make sexual references. Michael can be disruptive on the school bus. Michael was also hit by a car at the age of 5. No major injuries were reported to be sustained.

Michael is the second youngest of ten children. He enjoys weekly visits with them. Families interested in Michael would need to be willing to facilitate letters and/or phone contact with siblings if they are not adopted together. First preference will be given to families who are willing to adopt Michael and his siblings.

Michael currently attends counseling bi-weekly and is on medication to address his behaviors. Michael wants to control his behavior and seems to be able to do so at times. There are other times when he has more difficulty with this task and needs to be redirected.

Michael needs an adoptive family who can provide him with a lot of structure, patience and love. Michael does well with one on one attention. Families interested in Michael must be prepared to handle challenging behaviors.
